Reaction to Bellflower’s Repeal of Smoking Ban

I was very upset when I read Sue van den Hoek’s letter to the editor May 10. Although I am a smoker, I will go to surrounding area restaurants which allow smoking. I feel it was uncalled-for to state Bellflower was not a friendly city over a smoking issue. I have lived in Bellflower 36 years and I also work in Bellflower. I feel it is a wonderful community, where people care about each other and work well together. Regarding the letter’s reference to “Three Henchmen” on the City Council, council member Ruth Gilson is a lady and earned every vote she got. I think Sue van den Hoek owes the citizens of Bellflower an apology. We are a friendly city!
