La Canada Flintridge : Business License Fee Plan
A measure that would establish a business license fee to support the Foothill Boulevard Master Plan is scheduled to return to the City Council for final consideration Monday.
The master plan recommends city efforts to increase the variety of businesses, improve structures and recruit retired business people for voluntary advisory services.
If the measure passes, medical corporations--including physicians, veterinarians, optometrists, chiropractors and dentists--will pay annual fees of $160 plus $50 for each professional employed. Five dollars per worker will be required for nursing and clerical staffs. Costs will be the same for real estate offices and recreational facilities such as riding, tennis and country clubs.
Retail establishments will pay $100 yearly plus $5 per employee. People who conduct part-time business ventures at home will pay $50 annually plus $50 for a home occupation license.
