Apple Shows Newton Technology: At an elaborate press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show in Chicago, Apple Computer Inc. officially unveiled some of the features of its Newton product, a hand-held, pen-operated computer that functions like an intelligent note pad. Apple plans to market the Newton as a product to help busy people organize their lives. The first machines won’t be available for sale until sometime next year.
