La Jolla’s Homeless
During the Reagan/Bush years the homeless problem has grown to such an extent that the down and out push beyond the boundaries of cold inner city confines where they belong. Now they boldly tread the turf of pristine neighborhoods, offending faint-of-heart socialites. The homeless are “eyesores,” undesirable, ragged, like the edge of a broken ceramic nail.
La Jolla socialites, you can no longer ignore the homeless. You can no longer vote Republican and let the big cities deal with the resultant problems. When you have had your fill, maybe we will get some action, if not compassion, and the homeless will get the help they need and deserve as our fellow human beings.
La Jolla is a paradise of natural beauty, but a glimpse into the hearts of city leaders and residents has made La Jolla ugly. I, for one, will visit elsewhere.
