Brian Moore; Actor Led Crusades to Curb Development

Brian Moore, an actor who gained his greatest fame in his Hollywood community crusades to control development in Hollywood and its Cahuenga Pass, has died. He was 59.
Moore died May 8 of congestive heart failure.
He was chairman and former president of the Federation of Hillside and Canyon Assns., founder and director of the Cahuenga Pass Coalition, and past president of the Hollywood Coordinating Committee.
He also co-founded and served as president of CHIP-IN, an organization that provides 1,500 meals a week to the homeless.
Moore campaigned successfully to have his hillside neighborhood listed in the National Register of Historic Places as Hollywood’s first National Historic District.
His film credits include “Advise and Consent,” and his television appearances included “The Young and the Restless,” “Designing Women” and “Knot’s Landing.”
Moore is survived by his mother, Polly Wilcox, and his sister, Pat Breslin.
