Bush Signs Proclamation Commemorating WWII

WASHINGTON —
President Bush warned against ever letting America’s defenses down as he signed a proclamation Thursday marking the 50th anniversary of World War II.
“Weakening our defenses during a time of peace is an open invitation to those with the potential to wage war,” Bush said at a signing ceremony in the Roosevelt Room witnessed by generals and lawmakers.
