Angels’ Bus Crash Not the Key Issue

For years now, it has been said that the only thing more fickle than an L.A. team’s fan is its coverage from the L.A. Times. Your recent coverage of how the Angels’ near-tragedy affected their play is a prime example. In L.A., there’s always an excuse.

Using the bus crash in New Jersey to blame the Angels’ poor level of play against the Baltimore Orioles is like saying that the L.A. riots started because it was unseasonably warm on April 29. The Angels have been playing mediocre ball, at best, all season.
