Huntington Library Gets New Official

Randy H. Silverman, preservation librarian at Brigham Young University, has been appointed chief preservation officer at the Huntington Library in San Marino.
Silverman graduated from Evergreen State College in Washington and received his master’s degree in library science from Brigham Young.
The Huntington houses one of the largest research libraries in the country in the field of Anglo-American civilization, with about 3 million rare books, manuscripts, maps and prints available to scholars. The library’s R. Stanton Avery Conservation Center is equipped for repairing these items.
