HERITAGE SAVER: When San Clemente ran out of funds this year for its traditional Fourth of July fireworks display off the city pier, Rick Anderson, owner of the Tropicana Grill restaurant, got busy raising money himself. . . . “It’s for America; people died for this thing,” he explains. The response has been great--so far two-thirds of the $29,000 needed has been raised. The average check has been for $5. . . . “I’ve had kids give me a dime,” he says.
