Sri Lankans Battered by 20-Inch Rainfall

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka —
Thousands of people moved into makeshift shelters Saturday and dried out belongings they salvaged from the heaviest downpour on record in Colombo.
Ten people were killed and more than 150,000 left homeless after 20 inches of rain fell between Thursday night and Friday morning, police and weather officials said.
