OJAI : Developers Must Provide Parking
The Ojai City Council voted on Tuesday to approve a new city ordinance that forces developers in the downtown area to provide parking or contribute to a public parking fund if their projects lead to increased traffic.
After a public hearing, the council voted unanimously to approve the in-lieu parking fee ordinance, which mandates the construction of parking spaces for any new construction projects in Ojai’s redevelopment area.
Future developers of downtown property who are unable to build the parking places will be required to pay $3,140 for each spot, City Manager Andrew Belknap said.
