DISASTER ART: Cal State Fullerton fine arts graduate student David K. Morgan, above, combined his interests in wildlife and art when he spent six months creating “Exxon’s Ark,” a 12-foot-long wood-block ship replica. In detailed relief, it depicts nearly 100 wildlife species affected by the 1989 Exxon Valdez disaster in Alaska. . . . . Morgan’s hard work is paying off: He won the California State University system’s top student research award this month, and the university is proudly displaying it in the foyer of its new Titan Pavilion.
