Cory McClenathan, Al Hofmann and Bob Glidden were the leaders in their respective divisions after qualifying for the NHRA Springnationals at Columbus, Ohio. McClenathan used a 4.992-second run at 288.00 m.p.h. to go from 11th to first in top-fuel qualifying.
Hofmann is the funny-car leader with a 5.292 at 274.72 in a Dodge Daytona. Glidden, seeking his first victory of the season, leads the pro stock field with a 7.256 at 190.75.
