Voters May Have Sent Messages to Powers That Be

Some City Council members of Mission Viejo are still not getting it. One day after voter rejection of their $18-million City Hall, they talk of reshuffling plans and come forward with yet another City Hall building project (“City Hall Trashing Leaves Council in Quandary,” June 4).

On the other hand, we cannot get ugly paint smears on the entrance street to our tract cleaned at a cost of no more than $300. I, for one, as a 20-year resident of this beautiful community, would like to see these elected officials spend more time on keeping Mission Viejo clean and safe and build more parks and jogging trails. Most streets need repaving.

If more office space is needed for city administration, maybe the city can buy or lease one of the many empty, overbuilt office buildings in this area for considerably less than the proposed City Council plans.
