Latino Voting Power
Arturo Vargas castigates city officials for denying Latinos political justice (Commentary, June 5). But in the same section we read that fewer Latinos are registered to vote than any other group. Even in the five districts in which they are 57% to 75% of the population, they are seldom even a plurality of the registered voters. It seems Vargas is chastising the wrong persons. Shouldn’t he be working to register our Latino citizens?
