Dodgers Not Winning Fans With Their Play

Share

I find myself taking exception to a comment attributed to Tim Crews on June 14. Mr. Crews was “incensed” that an error was not charged on the ground ball hit by Chris Sabo to Lenny Harris.

The official scorer is not the person who will ruin Mr. Crews’ career by declaring the grounder a hit instead of an error. The responsibility lies directly with Mr. Crews, who, with two out, gave up four consecutive hits (including one to the pitcher).

If this me-first attitude and concern for one’s statistics continues, the Dodgers will be lucky to keep their hold on fifth place.
