People who get regular exercise and a healthy diet tend to feel better psychologically and are sick less often but aren’t necessarily better workers, a researcher said Monday.

Stewart I. Donaldson, a psychologist at the USC School of Medicine, released his findings before the American Psychological Society.

The study involved 262 workers who completed questionnaires about their lifestyle, quality of work life, job attendance, illnesses and psychological well-being. After the survey, their job performance and attendance records were evaluated by their supervisors.

There was no correlation between workers’ health habits and their supervisors’ evaluations.
