Alpha Microsystems Expecting a Loss

Alpha Microsystems said Tuesday that it expects a loss of between $1.2 million and $1.4 million for its first fiscal quarter, which ended May 31.

Douglas Tullio, chief executive, blamed the projected loss on the computer-industry slump and slow economic recovery. The company, which makes business computers, expects its revenue for the quarter to fall 7% short of the $12.6 million it reported for the same period a year earlier.
