Gas Prices Hit 18-Month High: Domestic prices are the highest since the start of the Persian Gulf War, the American Automobile Assn. reported. The auto club’s nationwide weekly survey showed that the average price of self-serve unleaded regular gasoline rose 0.8 cents a gallon to $1.184. That’s the highest price since January, 1991, when regular unleaded fetched $1.225 per gallon. Prices rose in all regions of the country except the Great Lakes and Mid-Atlantic states, the AAA said.
