CAMP PENDLETON : Practice Bombing to Start Again
Camp Pendleton announced Wednesday that aerial bombardment will resume today at a training range on base. The bombing, which may be heard miles away, will be conducted every Thursday between 2 and 3 p.m. until mid-July.
Recent practice bombing at the huge Marine base alarmed people in surrounding communities and brought a flurry of calls to area police departments.
Some of the bombs being dropped by aircraft will be 500-pounders.
