Recall Efforts Are Proceeding

A recall petition aimed at Hawaiian Gardens City Councilman Domenic Ruggeri is being circulated, following approval of the wording by City Clerk Carol Dorfmeyer.
Recall proponents have until Aug. 10 to obtain valid signatures of 879 registered voters to put the recall on the November ballot.
Earlier, a petition calling for the recall of Mayor Kathleen Navejas was approved. It carries a July 28 deadline and also needs 879 valid signatures.
