Great Western Banker Named to Freddie Mac Advisory Council

E.S. (Sam) Lyons, senior vice president of Great Western Bank, headquartered in Chatsworth, has been named to a 13-member advisory council to help Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp., the secondary mortgage market corporation, develop affordable-housing programs.
The Freddie Mac’s Affordable Housing Advisory Council will hold daylong meetings twice a year. Members serve two-year terms.
Developer James W. Rouse will serve as chairman of the council. Lyons is the only board member from the western United States.
Freddie Mac is a stockholder-owned corporation established by Congress in 1970 to provide a continuous flow of funds to mortgage lenders. Over the years the corporation has helped finance one in eight American homes.
