Digital Lowers PC Prices: Digital Equipment Corp. waded into the industry’s price war to compete with smaller, “no-name” brands. Under a new pricing plan, Digital’s entry-level PC316 sells for $1,249, including hard drive and monitor. Digital lost $294 million in its last quarter, but its PC sales have been growing.
