SUMMER SLED: Roger Hickey of Huntington Beach has won money and trophies for all kinds of racing: cars, boats, go-carts, skateboards. Now he’s come up with his own invention: gravity-driven downhill racing cars (E2). He calls them “a summer version of a cross between the winter bobsled and the luge.” After a recent exhibition, he says, orders are starting to flood in for the motorless racers. Predicts Hickey: “It’ll be a huge sport. It’s the most fun I’ve ever had in racing.”
