Student Deaths and Access to Guns
It’s a sad, sad, sad commentary on America. My child (not my biological child) was killed one day before graduation. He had good grades, good community spirit and good social commitment.
He can’t graduate because he was killed by a gun. I have heard all of the arguments; he could have been killed by a knife, hammer or jack handle. The facts are he was killed by a gun!
I blame the United States government. Why do we manufacture guns? Can you kill a rabbit with a pistol? Yes, you could. How many rabbits are you aware of that were killed with a pistol? How many friends, relatives or outstanding non-combative human beings are you aware of who were killed with a pistol?
To paraphrase President Kennedy: What Congress will become a profile in courage?
