Poker in San Marcos

Here we go again. The entrepreneurs are on a roll. Now they want gambling in San Marcos. Don’t let it happen.

San Marcos has been targeted for a card club in which gambling will be allowed. The “sharpies” can’t wait to get their clutches on your hard-earned monies.

Three people have given “Notice of Intent to Circulate a Petition” within San Marcos to adopt an ordinance authorizing the establishment of a “San Marcos Card Room and Senior Recreational Center” in which games of draw poker and low-ball poker will be allowed.

Don’t be misled by this petition. It will do nothing for seniors. The entire idea is a money-making scheme that will draw gamblers to San Marcos.

San Marcos does not need another Senior Center. We have the Joslyn Senior Center that offers ample recreation for seniors. This aspect of the petition is a ruse to buy your vote.

The money-grubbers want to lure you into their parlor where you can lose your life savings and hard-earned pension monies.

What’s next? Porno houses? Nude shows? Are we to become “Sin City?” Save San Marcos. Take a stand against the destruction of our city.
