Alpharel Signs Contract With 1st Regional Partner

Share

Alpharel Inc. of Camarillo has signed a contract with its first regional business partner under a new program aimed at broadening the market for Alpharel’s electronic information-management systems.

The partner, Spectra Image Systems, a division of Mid-South Data Industries Inc., will be Alpharel’s principal link with the South, said John W. Low, Alpharel’s chief financial officer.

The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, calls for Alpharel to provide Magnolia Federal Bank in Hattiesburg, Miss., with a computer imaging system. “Initially, the system will store, print and distribute files in the bank’s mortgage department,” Low said.

Low said Magnolia Federal is Mississippi’s largest thrift institution. He added that Alpharel, whose sales totaled $6.6 million last year, hopes to form alliances throughout the country as part of its expansion program, called Alpha Plus. The company’s imaging system will be marketed in petroleum, government and other document-intensive fields, he said.
