Daley Thompson will make a final attempt to qualify for a fifth Olympic Games decathlon Thursday and Friday at a meet in London.

Thompson, the world record-holder and Olympic gold medalist in 1980 and 1984, must achieve the qualifying standard of 7,850 points at the Crystal Palace meet for a place on the British Olympic team. Thompson, 33, didn’t compete in the British Olympic trials.
