Pepsi Plans Magic Johnson Ad Campaign: In a sign of corporate support for Earvin (Magic) Johnson, Pepsi-Cola Co. has produced a new television commercial starring the basketball great who retired because he has the virus that leads to AIDS, company officials said. After Johnson made his stunning announcement in November, at least one television campaign featuring the former Los Angeles Lakers star was pulled as corporate America reassessed its relationship with the highly popular player. But over the last several months, Johnson has reappeared in one television commercial and in regional Pepsi advertising. The advertisement will star Johnson and “hundreds of well-wishers,” Pepsi officials said.
