FBI Raids Small Defense Contractor: About 20 agents seized documents and equipment from Hamby Corp. in Santa Clarita as part of an investigation into alleged fraud involving cables Hamby makes for the Peacekeeper missile. The FBI acted on a search warrant submitted by an agent of the U.S. Air Force’s Office of Special Investigations, which accuses Hamby of “providing nonconforming cables” and of submitting “false statements” concerning the cables’ manufacture and testing. Laurence Lubka, a lawyer for the company, said that “when the investigation is done, they (Hamby) will be vindicated in every way.”
