From Staff and Wire Reports

Ohio State football Coach John Cooper received a four-year contract extension that gives the university more control over his outside income and requires him to emphasize academics to his players. The agreement, retroactive to April 1, replaces a five-year contract that was to expire Jan. 3, 1993. His base pay remains $114,000 per year, but his total compensation tops $500,000 a year.
