Finding Noodles

Share

I found the article (“Krakow: Poland’s Enduring Capital of Culture,” June 28) by Beverly Beyer and Ed Rabey very interesting and reminiscent. My husband and I spent nine days driving through Poland and eating at restaurants in 1990. Not once did we find pierogi on any menu. We asked a waitress (about this) and she responded, “only at home.” Beyer and Rabey were lucky to find it. Things must have changed in two years. We also paid a 32-cent traffic fine for driving 25 kilometers over the speed limit. The ticket was worth the souvenir! But our relatives in Poland write that everything is very expensive now.
