Man’s Fatal Shooting Called Gang Related
A man was shot to death early Sunday in what police believed was a gang-related incident.
Dead is Carlo Guerra, 23, of Santa Ana.
According to Police Lt. Bob Chavez, Guerra was walking in the vicinity of Wood and Myrtle streets with several companions at about 3:45 a.m. when an argument broke out.
Within minutes, Chavez said, one of Guerra’s companions began shooting with a handgun, hitting Guerra in the chest.
Other friends then drove him to Coastal Communities Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Chavez said that the handgun has not been recovered and that there have been no arrests in the incident.
