Hazardous Waste Roundup
The county Department of Public Works and the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County will sponsor a Household Hazardous Waste Roundup from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 1 at the Public Service Corporate Yard, 800 Air Way.
Residents are limited to five gallons or 50 pounds per vehicle.
Hazardous waste includes old car batteries, used motor oil, paints, pesticides, oven cleaners and bleach. It is illegal to put these items in the garbage.
