Shutting Down: “Shock rock” disc jockey Howard Stern’s late-night talk-variety show has been canceled two years after it began in July, 1990. Ultimately, “The Howard Stern Show” reached 53 markets nationwide, including KCOP Channel 13 in Los Angeles, where it aired Saturdays at midnight. An official said production was stopped because the cost of the show exceeded its revenue.
