Rep. Anthony C. Beilenson (D-Los Angeles), who is running for reelection in the 24th Congressional District, will host the grand opening of his campaign headquarters on Saturday, marking the campaign’s kickoff. Horace Heidt, Republican candidate for the 40th Assembly District, will be a team captain on Community Clean-Up Day on Saturday. Heidt will join volunteers in painting out graffiti and picking up trash throughout the San Fernando Valley. The event will begin at 8 a.m. at Fulton Junior High School, 7477 Kester Ave., Van Nuys. Democratic Clubs United will sponsor a buffet dinner-dance and reception at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Braemar Country Club, 4001 Reseda Blvd., Tarzana. Actor Ed Asner is scheduled to be the master of ceremonies. Rep. Barbara Boxer (D-Greenbrae) and former San Francisco Mayor Dianne Feinstein, both of whom are running for the U.S. Senate, are expected to attend, in addition to local politicians.
