Authorities in Orange and Los Angeles counties recaptured two inmates Monday who had escaped from work crews at the minimum-security James A. Musick Branch Jail during the past month.

On Monday afternoon, Santa Ana police captured Eliazar Armenta, 24, of Santa Ana, who had been serving time at the jail on a burglary and narcotics conviction. Armenta escaped from a work crew in Dana Point on June 22, Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Richard J. Olson said.

Later Monday, Dale Randolph Abramson, 32, of Poway, was arrested in the La Mirada area by Los Angeles and Orange county sheriff’s deputies, Olson said.

Both inmates were booked at the Central Men’s Jail in Santa Ana on suspicion of felony escape, Olson said. Neither inmate will be returned to a minimum-security facility, he said.
