Alpharel Reports Drop in Quarterly Net Income

Share

Alpharel Inc., a Camarillo maker of computer imaging systems, reported a sharp drop in net income for its second quarter, posting earnings of $61,000 compared with $403,000 a year earlier.

Alpharel’s revenue for the three months ended June 30 was $1.4 million, down from $1.5 million a year ago. Roger Erickson, Alpharel’s president, attributed the declines to lower than expected orders, which he blamed on the sluggish economy.

For the six months ended June 30, the company earned $122,000 on revenue of $2.8 million, compared with earnings of $659,000 on revenue of $3.1 million during the first half of 1991.
