Teleprocessing Arranges Field Service for Users

Share

Teleprocessing Products Inc. of Simi Valley signed an agreement with Data General Corp. providing users of Teleprocessing’s data communications equipment with around-the-clock service by more than 600 field service workers throughout the country.

Zora Kirby, Teleprocessing’s president and chief executive officer, said her company expects a strong revenue boost from another development: the introduction of a line of products that enable customers to send digital information over so-called switched telephone lines.

“The switched system can save a business a significant amount of money, since the company pays only for the time it uses the line, just as we pay for ordinary phone calls,” Kirby said.

Teleprocessing was founded in 1975 by Kirby’s husband, David B. Kirby, who died in 1990. The privately held firm has about 100 employees.
