Irwindale : No Assessment District

Share

After receiving numerous protest letters and phone calls, the City Council decided last week not to create a Landscape and Lighting Assessment District that could have cost property owners $1,500 per year or more.

A public hearing was scheduled on the subject but was canceled July 23 after the council informally decided that the measure could not pass.

It has not yet been determined where the money for landscaping and lighting will come from. The city is waiting to determine how the state budget crisis will affect its budget before allocating funds.
