STANTON : On-Street Parking Banned at Center
Parking will be banned on Katella Avenue in front of the Stanton Business Center, the City Council decided this week.
In response to requests by businesses in the center, the council agreed to create a no-parking zone of roughly 320 feet on the north side of the street, in front of the complex at 8381 Katella Ave.
Business owners complained that cars leaving the complex have trouble seeing oncoming traffic going west on Katella because of vehicles parked at the curb next to the center’s driveway. The business owners recounted several near-miss incidents, and the city’s traffic engineering staff agreed after inspecting the site that the sight distance does not meet standards established by state traffic guidelines.
