Countywide : Show to Raise Funds to Rebuild Shelter

Actor George Kennedy and television personality Stephanie Edwards will host a one-hour television fund-raiser today to help pay for reconstruction of the dormitory at the Ventura County Rescue Mission in Oxnard.
The mission’s 70-bed dormitory, which provided shelter for homeless men, was destroyed July 5 in an early-morning fire. Mission development director Jerry Sain said Kennedy and Edwards, both Ventura County residents, have donated their time.
The program will air from 7 to 8 p.m. on Santa Barbara station KEYT, Channel 3, which donated the air time. The program can be seen throughout Ventura County.
