Sunday, Aug. 8: Assemblyman Jack O’Connell (D-Carpinteria) will hold a family barbecue fund-raiser at Arroyo Verde Park from noon to 2 p.m. Adults $10 and children $5. The fund-raiser will be held in the Redwood Glen barbecue area. O’Connell is seeking reelection in the 35th Assembly District, which includes Ventura, Santa Paula, Ojai and portions of Santa Barbara County. For reservations or information, call 966-9391.
