COURTESY REVISITED
In Chinatown, needing change for a parking meter, I tried to change a $5 bill in a nearby store but was refused. I entered another store to buy an unneeded item, just to get change, and encountered more rudeness. That was three years ago, and my family has not returned to Chinatown since.
Were the people racist? I think not. I am Chinese.
