BARCELONA ’92 OLYMPICS / DAY 9 : U.S. Riders 10th and 13th in Dressage

BARCELONA — Charlotte Bredahl of Solvang, Calif., placed 10th Sunday in the preliminary round of dressage team competition at the Olympic equestrian events.
A five-judge panel awarded Bredahl and her horse, Monsieur, 1,507 points, the highest on the four-member U.S. team.
Bredahl’s teammate, Michael Poulin of Fairfield, Me., scored 1,495 points on Graf George for 13th place.
The United States ranked eighth in the qualifying round at the Barcelona Polo Club. Denmark, France, Italy and Germany led the scorers in team dressage.
In individual scoring, German riders placed first and second. Nicole Uphoff, on Rembrandt, got 1,768 points and Monica Susanne Theodorescu, on Grunox, scored 1,676.
