Cacho Landscape Maintenance Co. in Sylmar has agreed to pay 126 employees $60,000 in back overtime wages, according to the U.S. Labor Department.
The settlement, entered in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, came after the Labor Department sued Cacho for violating overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Individual back pay amounts range from $10.83 to more than $2,100. The department said the back pay covers overtime worked during the two years ending Feb. 29, 1992.
