Baker and Bush
We see, once again, President Bush putting himself and his career above all other interests as he calls on James Baker to head his political campaign. Baker has been the most effective member of Bush’s Administration in his efforts to arrange Middle East peace. Now, as Baker himself tells the press, is the crucial time for the U.S. to facilitate negotiations. So what does President Bush say on their fishing trip? “Please come save my campaign, James, you can play peacemaker later.”
