NORTH HOLLYWOOD : Workshop Planned on Growth Agency

Share

A public workshop will be held today to discuss the possible renewal of the Community Redevelopment Agency’s legal powers, which allow it to condemn property in North Hollywood to make way for redevelopment.

The agency’s previous 12-year mandate, awarding it such legal power in North Hollywood, expired last year, said Jerry Belcher, project manager for the North Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency. The Los Angeles City Council will ultimately decide what guidelines the agency must observe if its legal powers are renewed.

The meeting will also focus on efforts to amend the redevelopment plan, including the completion of an environmental impact statement and a fiscal analysis report, Belcher said.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 11605 Magnolia Blvd.

Last week the City Council adopted rules to govern formation of a 25-member citizens panel that will advise the city on the future of the North Hollywood redevelopment project.
