Tax Evader Explodes Home, Kills Self Rather Than Pay

PHOENIX —
A man blew up his home and fatally shot himself rather than let the Internal Revenue Service seize the house for payment of back taxes, police said.
Carl Jeffery, 44, doused the inside of the house with gasoline Sunday, set off explosive charges and then shot himself in the head with a rifle, police said.
