New Jersey Lawmakers Vote to Relax Gun Ban

TRENTON, N.J. —
State lawmakers voted Monday to relax New Jersey’s ban on semiautomatic assault-style weapons, a ban regarded as the country’s toughest.
Gov. Jim Florio said he will veto the bill, setting up another showdown between the Democrat and the Republican-dominated Legislature, which has overriden three previous Florio vetoes.
